Fancy Divisions

Their name reflects their mission. To bring dazzling displays of color, form, and texture to life through presentations of costumes and floats called frame suites that focus on tradition. Magnificent in size and beauty their costumes take ones breath away. The Fancy Division is judged on how well they play out in color, performance and grandeur - the traditional Fancy Dress categories. The categories consists of frame suits the King Jockey, King Clown, and Handsome Trim, Fancy Trio, Handsome Costume, Trio Pantomime Clowns, Special Mention, and last but not least The Juveniles who start at walking age and can compete in that category until they have completed their 12 birthday. In years past one of the categories featured was the Female Impersonators, they are no longer represented. The Captain of each Fancy Club competes in a separate category to decide the “Best Dressed” of the club Captains.

Captain

1 representative and max 19 participants 4 minute limit to perform.

King Jockey

Costume that must have a horseshoe in the costume with a minimum height and width of 8 feet.

King Clown

A frame suit (wheels optional) no more than 3 persons with 1 suit in judging minimum height and width of 8 feet.

Handsome Trim

A frame suit (wheels optional) no more than 3 persons with 1 suit in judging minimum height and width of 8 feet.

Fancy Trio

3 identical costumes except for color same theme with headpiece minimum 9ft high and 6ft wide.

Handsome Costume

Must be a new suit carried by 1 person over 17 years old.

Trio Pantomime

3 suits with the same theme.

Special Mention

Any entry in the Fancy Division and cannot compete in any other category.

Juvenile

One suit carried by one child under twelve, wheels are not allowed.
